Jake Paul’s parents terrified for Mike Tyson bout: ‘Most frightened I’ve been’
Ahead of his controversial boxing match with Mike Tyson this weekend, Jake Paul’s parents have voiced their concerned about the matchup, admitting that ahead of the pairing — they find themselves “frightened” for their son’s safety.
Paul, who makes his return to the ring for the second time this annum, most recently improved to 10-1 as a professional, landing his tenth career win with a victory against Mike Perry.
Taking on the UFC alum and current BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) star earlier this summer in an impromptu pairing in Florida, Jake Paul turned in an eventual sixth round knockout win over the former welterweight challenger.
As for Tyson, the former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion and devastating knockout striker, will make his professional boxing return this weekend following a retirement bout against Kevin McBride back in 2006, which came as his second straight stoppage defeat.
And set to meet this weekend in Arlington, Texas, Tyson and Paul both appeared at open workout ventures overnight in ‘The Lone Star State’ — with both of Jake Paul’s parents voicing their concerns for the safety of their youngest son against the New York fan-favorite puncher.
Jake Paul’s safety a cause for concern ahead of MIke Tyson matchup
“Always seeing Mike Tyson in person is terrifying,” They told Bloody Elbow during an interview. ” I watched him growing up, baddest man on the planet. 100 per cent, just watching him was scary. Hands down this is the most frightened I’ve been going into one of Jake’s (Paul) fights, but I’m not going to stop him!
“I never tell Jake or Logan (Paul) they ‘can’t’ do something. I always tell them to do what’s in their heart, manifest, and that I believe in them. But you don’t want to know what I was thinking. What I’m thinking is hopefully Mike made that look better than it really was. He’s a professional, he gets his guy up on the ropes, makes it look like he’s really hitting him, okay. I don’t do predictions, I just hope that Jake wins.”
