Is Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino Coming To The UFC?

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino was once considered the best female fighter on the planet, long before Ronda Rousey was a force. Justino was the Strikeforce Women’s champ after beating Gina Carano back in 2009, she knocked out Marloes Coenen and Jan Finney in 2010 before facing Hiroko Yamanaka in late 2011.

At that time, Rousey was 4-0 as a pro and fighting on the Strikeforce Challenger cards. Justino paved the way for ‘Rowdy’ to fill the limelight by failing her post fight drug test, she was stripped of her title and banished for 12 months from fighting. Rousey’s next fight was her first bout with Miesha Tate for the Women’s Bantamweight title; one armbar later and ‘Rowdy’ started her path to super stardom.

‘Cyborg’ returned in 2013 to her new home of Invicta FC; defeating Fiona Muxlow and Marloes Coenen by TKO within two months. The win over Coenen crowned ‘Cyborg’ the FW champ of the promotion. There was talk of Justino coming to the UFC, but manager (??) Tito Ortiz made sure that didn’t happen. Although, judging by what she posted on Twitter recently, some new negotiations may be under way.

Many fans have voiced the opinion that ‘Cyborg’ would be simply too strong for the smaller Rousey, also that her striking is a lot better too. UFC 168 was a great night for Rousey, but would she beat Justino? If this is a sign that CJ is on her way to the UFC, could ‘Rowdy’ be in trouble?
