Injury bug strikes Invicta FC as Sarah Kaufman drops from her debut
Sarah Kaufman has withdrawn from her October 6 Bantamweight bout with Kaitlin Young at Invicta FC 3 in Kansas City, due to an injury. This would have been Kaufman’s debut for the all-women’s MMA promotion.
This is the first time that Kaufman has had to withdraw from a fight, but she seems in good spirits and tweeted that she is waiting to fight Young:
1st fight I’ve ever had to pull out of so I’m sorry @kaitlin_young @invictafights and all my fans. Wanting to get back asap!

@mmasarah @invictafights Hopefully, one day we can punch each other in the face:-) You still going to come down and hang out???

@kaitlin_young @invictafights It will happen one day and when it does it will be epic! I’ll still be there 100% cheering you on 😉

Young will now face Leslie Smith. Smith was already on the card to fight Kim Connor-Hamby and Bantamweight Raquel Pennington will take Smith’s place against Connor-Hamby. Smith and Young fought previously at Invicta FC 1 to a “split draw” in April and were awarded “Fight of the Night” honors.
This should make for an interesting rematch.
