Hector Lombard will get another chance to show his skills inside the UFC Octagon, and this time it will be from his home country. Set to face fellow Middleweight Rousimar Palhares on December 14th, the bout will be the headliner of UFC on FX 6 from Australia. Both fighters are coming off a loss and will be in need of a win badly in order to stay relevant in the increasingly tough Middleweight division. Lombard lost a very underwhelming decision to Tim Boetsch at UFC 149 that was highly criticized, while Palhares suffered defeat at the hands of Alan Belcher‘s ground-and-pound.

Lombard has fought a multitude of bouts in Australia, contributing to his epic winning streak that peaked during his dominant run as Bellator Middleweight champion. His reign had sparked much debate, as many while expected him to destroy his opponents in the UFC while many others thought that he had made a career of smashing “cans”. Palhares, with his excellent BJJ and uncanny leglock submission skills, should provide a good test for Lombard’s second bout within the Octagon.
