Guram Gugenishvili forced from M-1 Challenge card with Injury

The M-1 Challenge XXVII card scheduled for Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix took a hit on Friday, just one week away from fight night. The promotion announced that M-1 Global Champion Guram Gugenishvili was forced to withdraw from his scheduled title defense against Kenny Garner due to injury.

Gugenishvili had been training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas when the injury occurred earlier this week.  According to M-1 Global, Gugenishvili injured his elbow during wrestling drills and after getting the elbow checked, he was not cleared to fight.

M-1 officials are hopeful that Gugenishvili can recover and defend his title sometime before the end of 201.
