Godofredo ‘Pepey’ Chokes Out Mike De La Torre In First Round
Fans watching the main card of UFC Fight Night 95 were greeted to an opening bout between featherweights Mike de la Torre (14-6, 1 NC) and Godofredo “Pepey” Castro (13-4).
“Pepey” earned the fourth win in his last five fights, and he did so in exciting fashion.
About 20 seconds in, “Pepey” clipped Torre with a spinning back kick. As Castro threw a kick, he got hit with a right hand. Castro began swinging away at Torre, who was against the cage. “Pepey” got his opponent to the mat and looked for a rear-naked choke. Torre fought it off as long as he could, but eventually he was forced to submit.
