Friends Again? Rashad Evans Wishes Jon Jones Good Luck At UFC 172

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Rashad Evans was part of one of the biggest MMA rivalries in recent history (no, not the beef with Rampage), as he and Jon Jones locked horns in the lead up to their UFC 145 clash. It was the third title defense for ‘Bones’ as he geared up to fight ‘Suga’, and there was a lot of back story involved.

‘Racist’ text messages, broken friendships, and Evans’ departure from Jackson’s were all part of the infamous feud, and Jones even made comments about finishing ‘Suga’ in the gym. The fight itself was a lopsided decision win for Jones, the rest is history and now Jones is on the brink of making his seventh defense of his strap against Glover Teixeira at UFC 172.

It appears that any hard feelings between Evans and Jones is truly a thing of the past, as they caught up at the UFC 172 weigh-ins. Check out what Evans had to say via his Instagram account:

“It’s been a long time since @jonnybones and myself got a chance to catch up. I’m glad we did! If you are blessed enough, life has a way of bringing you around again. “

Now training with the famed Blackzilians camp, Evans has had a hand in training Anthony Johnson for his fight with Phil Davis at 172. Who knows, perhaps ‘Suga’ and ‘Bones’ will train together again sometime. A win over Teixeira might mean that Jones will get to settle his beef with ‘Mr Wonderful’, a fighter that Evans beat convincingly back in early 2012.
