Former WWE Star Dave Bautista to make MMA debut this October

Dave Bautista from the WWE has announced that he will his have first MMA fight this October. Bautista will fight Rashid Evans (not to be confused with Rashad Evans of UFC fame) for CES MMA League at Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on October 6th.

The former wrestler tweeted:

Bautista has been training in MMA for a few years under Cesar Gracie and Nick Diaz. Bautista was involved in lengthy negotiations with StrikeForce to fight fellow WWE star Bobby Lashley until the MMA promotion was purchased by Zuffa last year and the deal fell apart.

Outside of Professional Wrestling, Bautista has been acting in several action films including the upcoming Quentin Tarrantino film: The Man with the Iron Fist which will feature UFC fighter Cung Le. He opened his own MMA gym in Florida last year.
