Floyd Mayweather Defeats Manny Pacquiao To Unify Belts

Join Lowkickmma.com for live play-by-play of tonight’s (Sat., May 2, 2015) blockbuster Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao boxing match, a fight that many have deemed as “the fight of the century.”

Going down live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, four belts will be on the line between the decorated fighters this evening. The undefeated Mayweather will put three of his own up for grabs when he risks the WBA, WBC, and The Ring welterweight belts. Filipino superstar Pacquiao will risk his WBO welterweight title.

The star-studded and highly anticipated main event is set to begin sometime between 11:30 p.m. and 12:00 midnight ET. Follow our round-by-round coverage right here:

Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao Results:

Round 1:

Mayweather came out with the first shot. Pacquiao worked a two-punch combo to the body, and Mayweather countered with a stiff right hand. “Money” snapped a decent right and a body shot, following with a slapping right hand. Pacquiao rushed forward to engage but the first bell sounded on a strong round for Mayweather.

Round 2:

Pacquiao came out aggressive to start the second but ate three counters as “Pacman” chased him around. He finally landed some decent shots and the referee broke a clinch. Mayweather slapped a right and hit Pacquiao with two jabs, who responded with two jabs of his own. Mayweather countered with hard shots, and Pacquiao landed two decent combos before the second round wore down.

Round 3:

After a body shot from Mayweather, Pacquiao turned it up even more in the third, pushing the action to land some big shots, and “Money” landed a few counter right hands. Mayweather swung at air on more than one occasion, eating two hard shots from Pacquiao. “Pacman” landed a counter right and the fighters went to war trading shots at the bell.

Round 4:

Pacquiao unleashed some hooks close to the ropes in the fourth, pushing Mayweather up against the corner to punish him a bit. Mayweather landed his jab, but “Pacman” unleashed combos on the ropes to massive delight from the crowd. Mayweather appeared to be in trouble, covering up while eating big shots. Mayweather snapped a jab but overall “Pacman” had by far his best frame.

Round 5:

Mayweather went to work in the fifth, rushing forward with a combination to regain control of the back-and-forth fight. Pacquiao wasn’t able to land many clean shots, and Mayweather worked his lightning-fast jab to most likely win the round.

Round 6:

Pacquiao landed a huge straight left at the start of the sixth, turning up the aggression with a hard body shot. Mayweather landed a jab, but Pacquiao countered and flung some combos, to which Mayweather brushed off with some taunts. “Pacman” ate repeated jabs that kept him at bay at the end of the round.

Round 7:

Mayweather moved forward at the start of the seventh, snapping more jabs. Pacquiao looked for the same success as the last round, but Mayweather stifled him this frame until a big straight left. More combos found a home and the round became a hard one to score when it was all said and done.

Round 8:

Pacquia landed to start the eight round, following up with some rushing hooks. He found success before Mayweather scored a hard right counter. Jabs landed from “Money” as he was accurate and effective going backwards.

Round 9:

Mayweather started with a stiff counter and Pacquiao rushed in.  He hit air and ate a counter shot as he kept the center of the ring. But “Pacman” wasn’t all that effective or accurate with it, and “Money” landed jabs. Pacquiao landed a big shot against the ropes as the round came to an end.

Round 10:

Pacquiao was again aggressive, scoring some decent shots. More light straight shots from Mayweather lead to some strong flurries from Pacquiao. Mayweather didn’t do much save for a few quick counters in a frame that Pacquiao most likely took.

Round 11:

Mayweather snapped some hard punches to start the next to last round, nailing Pacquiao on the jaw. Pacquiao finally looked for a flurry but it didn’t amount to much as Mayweather landed varied counters and jabs.

Round 12:

Pacquiao didn’t show too much urgency in the twelfth and final round, feinting instead of putting together combinations. Mayweather snapped his counters with deadly timing. Pacquiao stalked him down but “Money” danced around the ring avoiding him. Mayweather celebrated early with his fist in the air.

Final Result: Floyd Mayeather def. Manny Pacquiao via unanimous decision (118-110, 116-112, 116-112)
