Fighters React To Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler II Decision
Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler first went at it last March at UFC 171. Hendricks was able to steal the fifth round and ultimately steal the belt in one of the best fights of the year.
The two men went at it again tonight (December 6, 2014) in the main event of UFC 181 and it was in many ways similar to the first fight, a very close five-round war.
“Ruthless” came out firing in the first, but soon began to fade in the third round. Hendricks was able to take advantage of this and many had “Bigg Rigg” up four rounds to one going into the last round, meaning Lawler would need a finish to secure the belt.
Lawler ended the fight just as he started it, throwing everything he had at Hendricks, and tagging him to end the fight. The bout ended up going to decision and Lawler was awarded a highly controversial split decision win.
Although many media members and fighters, are happy for “Ruthless” due to his fighting spirit, many also feel that Hendricks may have been robbed in this fight. Check out some fighter reactions below:
