Fedor Emelianenko To Compete In World Masters Tournament Next Month
Fedor Emelianenko will be fighting a bit sooner than it was expected. He is scheduled to compete at the World Masters Tournament in Sambo and Judo on Nov. 25, according to Tass.ru.
“Fedor has already confirmed his participation in the competition”, said the press-service.
As of this writing, his opponent for the event is not known.
Emelianenko is scheduled to fight for the former Pride President Nobuyuki Sakakibara in his new MMA promotion (Rizin Fighting Federation). Emelianenko would be fighting for them on December 31st, 2015.
While an opponent has not officially been named for him at the December event, it’s been reported that Jaideep Singh, who is 1-0 as an MMA fighter, would be Fedor’s opponent.
Emelianenko hasn’t fought since October 7th, 2011, which was when he announced his retirement following a first-round knockout of Pedro Rizzo. Emelianenko is 3-3 in his last six, but after a three-fight losing streak in his last three Strikeforce appearances, he ripped off three straight wins. In his last two bouts, he won by the first-round knockout over less quality opponents.
