Fans Troll Ben Askren’s Wife On Social Media After UFC 239 KO
Fans instantly started trolling Ben Askren following his knockout defeat to Jorge Masvidal. However, some took it too far by commenting on his wife’s Instagram profile.
Askren suffered the first defeat of his professional career when he was knocked out by a flying knee in just five seconds at UFC 239 this past weekend. As a result, he became the unfortunate recipient of the quickest knockout in UFC history.
The jokes and insults started pouring in, especially given all of Askren’s trash talk since signing with the UFC last year. While some may have crossed the line, Askren jokingly acknowledged that he deserved the brunt of the insults.
However, others took it too far by finding his wife’s Instagram profile and making comments such as “is your husband still alive?” among others.
For her part, Amy Askren took her husband’s defeat well as she later reacted:
“Loved having family and so many friends here to support @benaskren,” she wrote. “The fight was NOT ideal…but anything can happen in this business. He’s already accomplished insane feats in life and I feel so lucky to witness what he will do in the future.”
