Ex-UFC champion Robbie Lawler set for Hall of Fame induction this summer

Former undisputed welterweight champion, Robbie Lawler is the latest Octagon star to receive an induction into the promotion’s Hall of Fame — with the San Diego native set to receive his landing during this summer’s ceremony in June.
Lawler, a stalwart star during his pomp at the welterweight limit in the UFC, enjoyed two tenures in the Dana White-led promotion.
And also competing for the likes of Strikeforce, KOTC, Pride FC, and EliteXC to name a few, managed to scoop Octagon spoils during his second stint with the organization.

In 2023 to boot, Robbie Lawler was inducted into the Fight Wing of the promotion’s Hall of Fame — for his stunning title rematch defense against Canadian veteran, Rory MacDonald back in 2015.
Winning the undisputed welterweight championship in a close rematch with Johny Hendricks, Californian fan-favorite, Lawler would defend the title in back-to-back Fight of the Year pairings with MacDonald, and a latter decision win over former interim champion, Carlos Condit.

And during tonight’s broadcast at UFC 313, play-by-play lead, Jon Anik revealed Lawler will be inducted into the Modern Wing of the promotion’s Hall of Fame during International Fight Week this summer — as part of his second induction into the organization’s hall.
Bowing out of his decorated and storied mixed martial arts career back in the summer of 2023, Lawler called time on his career with a devastating opening round knockout win over Niko Price in Las Vegas.

During his professional career, Lawler has beaten the likes of Tiki Ghosn, Chris Lytle, Frank Trigg, Murilo Rua, Melvin Manhoef, Matt Lindland, Josh Koscheck, Jake Ellenberger, Matt Brown, as well as Donald Cerrone, and Nick Diaz.
