Eddie Alvarez ‘Reveals’ Conor McGregor’s Big Post-UFC 205 Announcement
UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez let it rip earlier today (Thursday November 10, 2016) at the UFC 205 pre-fight press conference in New York City, as ‘The Underground King’ was at his most vocal that we’ve ever seen him in his UFC career.
The lightweight champ showed up on time to the press conference along with everyone else who was set to appear, however, in typical McGregor-like fashion ‘The Notorious One’ was fashionably late to the party. When McGregor and Alvarez’s mini clash, in which the featherweight champ almost tossed a chair at his opponent this weekend, finally settled down the two then engaged in a verbal spat with one another:
Alvarez: “I wan’t an apology from him, I want an apology for saying that my wife and kids –”
McGregor: “Suck these big Irish balls.”
Alvarez: “If he don’t apologize, then I’m gonna make him beg. I’m gonna give him a chance to apologize, you apologize to me.”
McGregor: “These big Irish balls all in ya face.”
Alvarez:“Then it’s done, then it’s done.”
It didn’t end there, however, as McGregor was once again asked what his big announcement would be after the conclusion of the bout, but again the 145-pound champ would simply respond by telling fans to buy the pay-per-view (PPV) to find out. Alvarez would then cut in and claim to know what the big announcement is, claiming that McGregor is expecting to welcome two children into the world, but his longtime girlfriend isn’t going to have twins:
McGregor: “Don’t worry about it, just buy that pay-per-view (PPV) twice.”
Alvarez: “I can tell you what that special announcement is, you guys wanna know what it is?”
“Conor is having two kids and his girlfriend is not having twins, so you guys do the math.”
With McGregor having the opportunity to go into Madison Square Garden and become the first dual-weight champion in UFC history, Alvarez will be using the massive stage to accomplish a similar task, and that is to prove to everyone once and for all that he is the true 155-pound champion and nobody will be taking the strap off of him for a long time:
“I’ve always been The Underground King of this sport,” Alvarez said. “I’ve always been UFC champion — whether I was here or not. It just was a matter of time before I got here and got this belt, and no one is getting it from me.”
With all the bad blood between Alvarez and McGregor continuing to spill out in the worst of ways, their legendary match-up in New York City can be expected to be quite the spectacle to watch.
Alvarez and McGregor will meet in the main event of UFC 205 for the lightweight title live on pay-per-view (PPV), from the Madison Square Garden arena in New York City this Saturday night (November 12, 2016).
