The first bout on the main card of UFC 199 was considered to be a pick-em fight in the lightweight division. Dustin Poirier (20-4) entered the Octagon at The Forum in Inglewood, CA hoping to extend his winning streak to four. Bobby Green (23-7) looked to spoil those plans and earn his ninth win in 10 fights.

“The Diamond” had his way with the “King” in under three minutes.

A counter right hand found the mark for Poirier early. Green landed a straight right, but had his leg kicked a couple of times. Green egged his opponent to hit him and Poirier proceeded to drop him with a left hook. “King” returned to his feet, moved forward and connected with a right hand. A straight left landed for “The Diamond.” Once again Poirier sent Green crashing to the canvas, this time “King” did not recover.
