Donald Trump Jr. Explains Why He Supports Colby Covington

Colby Covington

This weekend (Sat. August 3, 2019) one of the sport’s most controversial figures, Colby Covington, returns to action.

“Chaos” will be taking on former American Top Team (ATT) teammate and ex-UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. As promised by Covington, it has been confirmed that Donald Trump Jr., the son of current United States President Donald Trump, will be in attendance to support Covington.

Trump Jr. released the following statement regarding his UFC Newark appearance this weekend and explained his support of Covington.

“The reason I’m a fan of Colby is because he’s a winner who talks a lot of trash, but always backs it up … Just like someone else I know.” Trump Jr. said. “I’m excited to be there cageside on Saturday to support him.”

Trump Jr. is expected to be accompanied by his brother, Eric, Saturday night. However, the President himself is not expected to attend. Should Covington emerge victorious, it will be his seventh-straight victory inside the Octagon. He’ll also likely solidify himself as the next challenger for the 170-pound title.

However, he’ll have to do so by getting past Lawler, a vicious knockout artist and former champion.
