Guess What Donald Cerrone Was Doing When He Wrecked His Car Today
UFC lightweight contender Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone was involved in a car wreck today, but wait until you hear what he was doing at the time….
Donald Cerrone, veteran of many mixed martial arts and Muay Thai wars, came up short in his most recent fight in the UFC octagon. Facing off against Rafael dos Anjos to round out 2015 in Orlando, ‘Cowboy’ got rocked early in the first round of their rematch. The Brazilian champion kept his belt with a first round TKO finish and it was back to the drawing board for Cerrone. It wasn’t long before the news of ‘Cowboy’s’ next fight was confirmed.
Returning at UFC Fight Night 83 this coming February 21, Cerrone will finally move up to welterweight. He’ll be taking on the dangerous ‘Dirty Bird’ Tim Means, in a fight that has $50K bonus written all over it. So business as usual for the scrappy contender, until today that is, and his latest Instagram post. Check it out:
Oh the irony! Filming for the popular TV show ‘Road to the Octagon’ and Cerrone manages to wreck his raptor 4 x 4 in the snowy Colorado conditions. With his rebound fight just around the corner, we’re assuming by the number of smiley faces on the post that ‘Cowboy’ has managed to escape unscathed from the vehicle accident, but no official news yet.
We’ve seen Cerrone raise the heart rate of UFC president Dana White by doing extreme sports the week of big fights, and it’s usually when the Embedded camera crew are in town to film him. Now the Road to the Octagon guys get the ‘Cowboy’ treatment up close.
Fingers crossed no one was seriously hurt in this extremely ironic car wreck, and the fight with Tim Means at UFC Fight Night 83 can hopefully go down without a hitch.
