Donald Cerrone Technically Fails Random Drug Test
UFC lightweight challenger Donald Cerrone reveals how he technically failed a USADA drug test, and that he’s also allowed to still use a now banned treatment…..
UFC lightweight Donald Cerrone will get another crack at Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on FOX 17, as he challenges the Brazilian for the 155-pound title in December. The last time they fought ‘RDA’ got a clear cut decision win, but the champ has come under fire in the media since his UFC 185 upset victory over Anthony Pettis. With fans and fighters alike claiming dos Anjos must be on steroids, ‘Cowboy’ has used it as a main story for his trash talking of ‘RDA.’
Oddly enough though, it seems Cerrone has the only failed drug test between the two, albeit for diuretics, but still. That is until today, when ‘Cowboy’ revealed he technically failed a random dope screen this week. The USADA (United States Anti Doping Agency) random test team turned up to Cerrone’s home in Colorado, but he was in Nevada at the time.
Cerrone reveals that the USADA squad phoned him and said that they would wait two hours for him to return, but being in Las Vegas at the time made that an impossible task. As per the new testing guidelines explains Cerrone, he has technically failed the drug test by not being present to take it. Much like Wanderlei Silva, at least in terms of the breach, Cerrone’s absence, albeit co-incidental, has caused him to technically fail a drug test.
The WEC veteran and UFC fan pleaser also reveals the reason why he is still allowed to use IV rehydration, while it’s banned for every other fighter on the UFC’s packed roster.
