Longtime UFC color commentator Joe Rogan revealed the problem comes down to the position of the card as he’s heard the UFC wanted to place them in the co-main event. He shared the news on his most recent podcast with former UFC star Brendan Schaub.
While doing a recent interview with with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Cerrone confirmed that part of the delay is due to McGregor not wanting to be in the co-headliner spot.
“Conor won’t fight unless it’s a main event,” Cerrone said. “I don’t know if it’s an ego thing or a status thing for him. I don’t give a sh*t. I’ll fight anyone, anywhere, and I stand by that all the time. I guess he’s a prima donna and only takes main event spots, I don’t know.”
“I’m more annoyed that he went radio silent after putting it out. I get it, you want to stay relevant by putting it out there, but then you can’t go radio silent. Sack up, bitch. Sign the f*cking paper.”
