One man who has been making some thunderous statements in the UFC’s bantamweight division is 25-year-old knockout artist Cody ‘No Love’ Garbrandt, as the Team Alpha Male product is coming fresh off of a first round knockout win over Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 202 this past Saturday (August 20, 2016).

Garbrandt is currently undefeated in his young mixed martial arts (MMA) career, but already has a trail of bodies to show for as he has won nine of his ten career wins via knockout.

During the most recent episode of The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, courtesy of MMA Fighting, Garbrandt claimed that if he is given the opportunity he will knock current 135-pound champ Dominick Cruz out cold:

“I heard in an interview that he gets hit 30-percent (of the time), he has a 30-percent chance of hitting me,” Garbrandt said. “Dude, you give me a one-percent chance of finding your chin, I’m knocking you the f*ck out.

That’s plain and simple. I got a 90-perecent knockout rate. You want to talk about statistics? That’s what he talks about, stats. That’s numbers, buddy. He wants to talk about numbers because he’s a point fighter, and point fighters go off numbers and points.

I’m a knockout artist and he’s going to be on the receiving end of a vicious knockout.”

CodyGarbrandt3‘The Dominator’ was quick to respond, telling the up-and-coming knockout artist that he’ll end his current hype train the way he’s done countless times before:

“Let the youngster enjoy his hype train fresh off his win,” Cruz said. “Let his people keep on building that false sense of confidence that they are all instilling into his psyche over this period, it’s good for him.

I kill hype for a living.”

Cruz has yet to be booked for another title defense since successfully retaining his title against bitter rival Urijah Faber at UFC 199 this past June, however, with the current hype surrounding the impressive looking Garbrandt as of late, don’t be surprised if we see the pair slated to go toe-to-toe in the near future.
