Daniel Cormier vs. Alexander Gustafsson Highlights

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and top-ranked challenger Alexander Gustafsson threw down in a classic war in the main event of tonight’s (Sat., October 3, 2015) UFC 192 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

It was a gruesome back-and-forth affair that saw both elite combatants land several punishing shots, with Cormier dominating with countless uppercuts from the clinch, while Gustafsson nearly ended the fight with a huge knee and follow-up punches.

“The Mauler” also took Cormier town a few times, and used a movement-heavy gameplan to stifle the champion’s forward pressure. But it may have been a bit too focused on running, as “DC” utilized a grinding pace to stalk Gustafsson in the telling fifth round, securing a split decision victory and his first official title defense.
