Daniel Cormier Reacts To Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania Loss

Cormier

Earlier tonight (Sun., April 7, 2019), Brock Lesnar lost his WWE Universal Championship to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35 from East Rutherford, New Jersey. It’s time Daniel Cormier reacts to that loss.

You may or may not care about professional wrestling as an MMA fan, but the loss was significant in that it seemingly opened the door for Lesnar to go back to real fighting. The former UFC heavyweight champ has been linked to a title fight with current champion Daniel Cormier for almost a year now.

Lesnar confronted Cormier in the moments after his title-sealing win over Stipe Miocic in the main event of last July’s UFC 226. Their rumored fight remains uncertain due to Lesnar’s status, however. Cormier also only has one or two fights left in his illustrious career. It would seem based on his response that the fight may happen.

An avid pro wrestling fan himself, Cormier took to Twitter to react to Lesnar’s defeat:

It was a clear spot for Cormier to call out his potential foe. There’s a legit debate as to how much MMA fans actually want to see this fight go down. A trilogy fight with Cormier’s longtime rival Jon Jones may be the better choice in their minds. After all, Lesnar hasn’t fought since 2016 and was suspended for using banned substances directly afterward.

Even a fight against the upcoming Junior dos Santos vs. Francis Ngannou bout at UFC 239 would make more sense. But Cormier is looking for a huge payday to ride off into the sunset with, and that’s understandable. He deserves it.

For that reason, that fight could be headed our way soon, whether we like it or not.
