Dana White plans to book immediate title fight rematch for Alex Pereira against Magomed Ankalaev after UFC 313

UFC CEO, Dana White has claimed an immediate title rematch between Alex Pereira and the newly-minted light heavyweight champion, Magomed Ankalaev is “probably” next for the duo, following their controversial main event fight tonight in Las Vegas.

In search of his fourth successful title defense tonight since just April of last year, Brazilian star, Pereira saw his dominant title reign come to a screeching halt.

Dropping a contentious unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46) loss to the surging Russian challenger, Pereira questioned the judging call made against him and called into question the damage the contender dealt out toward him.

“Putting me up against the cage, he (Magomed Ankalaev) didn’t really do anything,” Alex Pereira told Joe Rogan during his post-fight interview through an interpreter. “Giving him the win with a gameplan like that, it incentivizes people to do that.”

And admitting he was expecting more action from both Pereira and Ankalaev tonight at UFC 313, White admitted that he would “probably” pitch an immediate title fight rematch between the duo next in the aftermath of tonight[s grudge match.

With tonight’s defeat, Sao Paulo star, Pereira’s run at light heavyweight falls to 5-1, suffering his first loss following his debut in the division just two summers ago in Salt Lake City, Utah.
