Dana White: Nick Diaz Is Ready To Fight Again

Things are looking up for Nick Diaz, and it appears that he is on his way back to the world famous Octagon.

Diaz has been away from fighting for two years after he was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission because he tested over the limits for marijuana metabolites in a post-fight drug screening following his fight with Anderson “The Spider” Silva in the main event of UFC 183 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The NSAC came down hard on Diaz and originally handed a five-year suspension and $165,000 fine to him. However, after several months of settlement negotiations, Diaz had his punishment reduced to an 18-month suspension and $100,000 fine.

Diaz’s suspension ended on August 1st, but he has yet to pay the entirety of his fine, which means he is still ineligible to apply for a license to fight again.

UFC President Dana White apparently thinks that the issue has been resolved because he said in a recent interview that Diaz could be booked in an upcoming fight soon. However, White did state that he needs to figure out the particulars, which are a date, location, and his opponent.

“Nick wants to fight,” White told, “The Buzzer” on FOX Sports. “Nick’s ready to go again. I’ve got to figure that out.”
