Dana White Looking For An Opponent To Fight CM Punk In 2016
UFC President Dana White recently spoke with Michael Landsberg on “Off The Record” to promote UFC 194, which takes place on December 12th in Las Vegas and headlined by Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.
During the interview, White was asked about CM Punk and when he will fight in the UFC. White said that he does not know when Punk would make his UFC debut other than would be in 2016.
“I didn’t know. It was the first time this guy has ever trained,” White said when asked if he thought CM Punk would fight within the year of his signing. “The guy has never wrestled. He professional wrestled, but he never wrestled.”
“He will fight next year, 100 percent,” he said.
White then revealed that he is currently looking for an opponent for Punk, who has zero MMA fights under his belt, from a show they’re producing right now.
“”I just started a new show, the pilot is on YouTube, it’s called Dana White: Looking for a Fight, and I’m actually out looking for opponents for CM Punk right now.””

Some agree that Punk joining the UFC will bring eyeballs from the pro wrestling audience to the mixed martial arts scene, but some also disagree with the move as they feel it hurts the sport of MMA.
