Dan Henderson Dispels ‘Rumors’ Of Move Back To UFC Middleweight Division
UFC, Pride and Strikeforce veteran Dan Henderson has truly been there and done it as far as pro MMA is concerned. The former two-weight champion has made a name for himself with his devastating knockout wins, and his patented ‘H-Bomb’. His last outing could have proved to be a turning point in the legendary career of ‘Hendo’, as he was manhandled by surging star Daniel Cormier.
Having only won once in his last four, Henderson really needed to shine at UFC 173, but the only thing that was evident against ‘DC’ was that the ageing veteran can still take a stern beating. Weighing in at 199 pounds for the light-heavyweight bout, and his right hand nowhere to be found, it looked like ‘Hendo’ would be dropping back to middleweight again. In fact, an interview with Henderson’s coach confirmed that this was the plan.
Not quite accurate according to ‘Hendo’ Himself, who posted the following to his Twitter account:
It’s funny how rumors get started. If you have read that I will be returning to middle weight. Not true, but always a possibility.

So still a possibility, but by no means confirmed as of yet. What is left for Henderson to prove as a fighter, let alone in a division that he is clearly too small for? If the option is there, my vote would be swayed towards a drop in weight for Henderson, and back to the division where he scored big wins over guys like Michael Bisping and Rousimar Palhares. What’s your take?
