Curtis Blaydes explains why he has no issues with a fight between Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar.

With “DC” being out of action right now with an injury and Lesnar still focused on his WWE commitments, this fight has been delayed. As a result, it’s been holding up the division. Blaydes recently gave his take about this fight while promoting his co-headlining contest of UFC Nashville against Justin Willis.

From his standpoint, he doesn’t have an issue with it because he understands the situation. That is the fact that the UFC is trying to give back to Cormier before he retires from the sport.

“When it was first brought up last year at UFC 226 I was there, I saw the whole Brock going in the cage,” Blaydes told MMA Junkie. “I saw that, I get it. They want to send ‘DC’ off with that big payday and he’s earned it. He’s been the face of the company for like the last four or five years. He’s fought Jon Jones, he’s fought Anthony Johnson and he’s fought some of the biggest names, he’s earned his. I have no problem with it.”

Lesnar had to re-enter into the USADA testing pool after failing a drug test resulting in his last bout. That forced him to be tested for six months before fighting again. He’s cleared of that timetable but must pay a hefty fine as that’s the only thing keeping him from action inside of the Octagon
