Cyborg: ‘I Hope Bethe Correia Kicks Ronda Rousey Ass’
Timing is everything in life and the UFC is banking on this theory if they want to get a mega-fight done in 2015.
Cris “Cyborg” Justino defends her Invicta FC Featherweight Championship against top contender Faith Van Duin this Thursday night at Invicta FC 13 while Ronda Rousey defends her bantamweight title against Bethe Correia next month at UFC 190.
This would be the perfect time for that fight and Justino agrees.
“I think everybody wants to watch this fight,” Cyborg told MMA Fighting.com. “I think it’s very important for women’s MMA. I want to be part of this.”
Fans and Dana White have been wanting to see this fight, but there are some problems in the way of that fight taking place. Justino is under contract with Invicta, but also she fights at a different weight class than Rousey. White stated in an interview earlier this year stating that if Justino can get down to Bantamweight then she could fight Rousey.
“For me, if it was easy to make 135,” Cyborg said. “Of course I would make this fight.”
Justino dropped a quote that was surprising if she really wants to have a fight with Rousey. Justino stated that she wants Correia to beat Rousey and end her undefeated streak.
“I hope Bethe kicks her ass,” Cyborg said.. “I think [that], I want [that]. I think [Correia is] a good fighter, good boxing. I think it’s a good fight for Ronda.”
“Ronda deserves it,” Justino said. “She always speaks sh*t. I don’t know what [Correia said]. If Bethe says something, it’s because Ronda said something. She likes to talk bad about everybody. That’s her game; not my game. I never said anything about her bad, nothing.”
If both women win their fights, it will be interesting to see if the UFC makes a deal with Justino and books this fight.
