Countdown To UFN 43: Marquardt vs. Maia & Te Huna vs. Rosa

Tomorrow night, in the main event of UFC Fight Night 43, middleweight’s James Te Huna and Nate Marquardt will square off looking to get back to winning ways inside the Octagon.

The fight is an important one for both men who are both on losing streaks heading into their fight tomorrow night.

Te Huna will be making his 185 pound debut after dropping his previous two fights at light-heavyweight. He last fought in December, getting knocked out by Mauricio Rua in the very first round of their fight. That loss followed a first round submission defeat at the hands of Glover Teixeira.

The Australian native will need a big win against “The Great” to get him started on the right track at middleweight. He faces a tough test in Marquardt, however, who is well-versed in all aspects of MMA.

But, Marquardt will also be desperate need of a win after suffering three consecutive losses in the welterweight division. The streak prompted the 35-year old to move back up to middleweight.

In preparation for Saturday’s clash the UFC have released free fights for both athletes. The first shows Marquardt’s epic knockout over jiu-jitsu ace Demian Maia at UFC 102.
That’s followed by Te Huna’s finish of Aaron Rosa at UFC on FX 2.
