Conor McGregor Wants To Fight Frankie Edgar If He Beats Jose Aldo
Interim UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has stated in the past that he will move up to lightweight after his fight with Jose Aldo at UFC 194. McGregor put this on full display back at the “Go Big” press conference earlier this month in Las Vegas.
McGregor has no problem with saying what is on his mind and let people know of what he exactly thought at the presser.
UFC president Dana White told Karyn Bryant on FOX Sports Live on Wednesday night that McGregor is willing to stay at featherweight in order to fight another top contender. That contender is Frankie Edgar. That fight makes sense in that division for sure.
McGregor might say he is the champion of the division but will need to beat his rival (Aldo) to unify the championships at UFC 194.
“”If he beats Jose Aldo, he told me he would also like to fight Frankie,” White said. “We’ll see how this thing plays out.”
“There is no doubt that Conor McGregor is that guy right now,” White said. “So, I don’t blame all the guys for chasing him around and wanting to fight him.”

Keep in mind that Edgar will have to beat Chad Mendes in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale in order to make that fight a reality. Currently, Edgar is the favorite over Mendes in that fight.
With Aldo pulling out of his original fight with McGregor back at UFC 189, as well as McGregor claiming Aldo will do the same at UFC 194, Frankie Edgar stated in a recent interview that he plans to step in to fight McGregor for the featherweight strap at UFC 194 if need be.
