The heated rivalry between UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and his interim counterpart Conor McGregor continues to gather steam. It all came to a head again at the GO BIG presser last week, as the Irish star made every attempt to get inside the head of the Brazilian ‘Scarface’. Aldo kept his composure to a degree, doing his best not lose his cool, but ‘The Notorious’ simply keeps going with the trash talk.

This time he has told Combate as transcribed by MMAFighting that the champ doesn’t get drug tested in his home nation of Brazil, using his run-in with random drug testers this summer as an example:

“I got tested. I get tested constantly, it’s his shady ass that doesn’t get tested over there in Brazil. All this corruption is still over there. Some police officer from the gym arrested the guy who was taking the test. That is the shadiest shit I’ve ever heard in my life. So, I take the test, he doesn’t. Test his ass!””

“He should’ve been tested right now, today or this whole period,” he said. “If he wasn’t, that’s disgraceful. We’ll see. I’ll ask if he was or was not tested.”

There’s no doubt that the botched dope test in June aroused suspicions ahead of Aldo and McGregor’s UFC 189 booking. Once ‘Scarface’ fell out of the race with a rib injury, he was almost made public enemy number one, as the promotion somewhat appeared to turn their backs on him.

McGregor’s taunts can often be taken with a pinch of salt, but his predictions have been pretty spot on so far. Has he bit off more than he can chew with Aldo though? You could argue that he is winning the war of words, but ‘Scarface’ isn’t really participating there. The Brazilian boss was far more fired up about his second fight with Chad Mendes, but then that was a fight that he got hurt in a few times.

Is McGregor inside Aldo’s head? This and many more questions will finally be answered come UFC 194. Stay tuned.
