Conor McGregor Calls Out Dagestani Fighters For Abusing Steroids

The beef between Conor McGregor and Dagestani fighters just won’t die down. In fact, it’s been fired up to all-new levels during the past 24 hours.

It all started when McGregor insulted Khabib’s wife in a since-deleted tweet. Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz responded and ‘The Eagle’ then did himself. The focus of their responses, it seemed, was on McGregor’s current sexual investigation with Irish police. They both called him a ‘rapist.’

But McGregor, of course, isn’t letting up himself. He tweeted a picture of Khabib with fellow Dagestani fighters Zubaira Tukhugov and Ruslan Magomedov. Tukhugov, of course, was one of the main assailants in the infamous UFC 229 post-fight brawl after Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor. He currently remains on suspension from the NSAC.

Magomedov, on the other hand, was recently banned for life for his third USADA violation. Tukhugov also has a USADA-issued suspension on his record. McGregor pointed both of those dynamics out:

Wow another dagestani caught abusing steroids. That’s 2 out of 3 in this picture busted for steroid abuse, with the most recent being busted 3 times in a row and now hit with a lifetime ban. Excellent job @JeffNovitzkyUFC. The only vice that cannot be forgiven is hypocrisy.”

Rematch Coming?

A desired rematch with Khabib cold be coming soon. McGregor is certainly pushing hard. The fight is obviously a very lucrative potential match-up for the UFC. However, the competitiveness of it may be in question. The first fight ended in quite anticlimactic fashion.

There, Khabib submitted his rival with shocking ease. In terms of actual fighting success, McGregor offered little. Expecting the rematch to play out any differently may be a fool’s errand. A title fight with the winner of UFC 236’s Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier has been teased by Khabib for his return this fall.

But if McGregor keeps up his antics, the UFC may choose to go a different route. The fight is the best potential they have for a massive pay-per-view haul. With the new ESPN deal in play now, however, that may not matter as much.

Still, this fight could most certainly be coming soon. Should it be?
