Video – Conor McGregor calls Logan Paul to thrash out deal for boxing match: ‘This can and will happen’
Despite seeing the kibosh put on a massive boxing match with Logan Paul, UFC megastar, Conor McGregor appears to be ready to take on the Ohio native in the squared circle next — with the WWE star posted video footage of the ex-champion ringing him and urging him to work toward getting a deal done.
McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion under the umbrella of the UFC, has been linked with a pair of exhibition boxing matches against both Paul as well as British rapper and YouTuber, KSI in recent weeks.
And earlier this month, talks between the duo had reportedly been fruitful, with McGregor and Paul set for a massive $250,000,000 payday for an exhibition showcase in Mumbai, India.
However, according to UFC CEO, Dana White, he is still expecting McGregor to return in the fall of this annum, and claimed rumors of a matchup with both Paul as well as content creator, KSI were far wide of the mark.
“No [Conor McGregor will not fight Logan Paul]. No, no [Conor McGregor will not fight KSI]. Hopefully, Conor returns [to the UFC] in the fall of this year,” Dana White said on the Pardon my Take podcast.
Conor McGregor claims Logan Paul fight “can and will happen” next
However, on social media tonight, footage has emerged of McGregor ringing World Wrestling Entertainment performer, Paul regarding a potential boxing match — insisting a pairing between himself and wrestler “can and will happen” next.
“This can happen, my man, for real,” Conor McGregor said during a phone conversation with Logan Paul. “This can and will happen.”
“If Conor McGregor wants to fight, we are running it,” Logan Paul said. “I mean, bro, it’s an epic fight. I would love to — It would be something I would, like, step away from WWE for a second to go do. 250 million, Rob! 250 million, bro! I gotta take that! If Nick Khan matches that, I’ll stay in the WWE. I think he’s trying to pressure Dana (White) into making it happen because he’s owned by the UFC. Like, he can’t f*cking sh*t, let alone fight without them knowing.”
