Compustrike: UFC 131 by the numbers

UFC 131 went through huge changes with Brock Lesnar having to drop out of the main event against Junior dos Santos, but the Stanley Cup crazy city of Vancouver was very excited for the event which saw Shane Carwin take Brock’s place. Fans around the world never thought the two knockout artists would take the fight to the full three rounds. Prior to fighting each other Junior has only been through two decision fights and Shane in his whole career has never seen the third round. The headlining bout had a lot on the line with the winner earning a shot against current Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. Junior surprised fans with an improved wrestling game by successfully attempting two takedowns. Only one minute of the whole fight was spent on the ground.
