Colby Covington Offers Prediction For Woodley vs. Usman
Colby Covington offers his prediction for the upcoming title fight between UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Kamaru Usman. This bout will serve as the co-headliner of the UFC 235 pay-per-view event.
Covington was supposed to get the next crack at Woodley. However, that was changed as now plans are for Woodley to fight Usman.
Woodley has teased a fight against Covington in June once the UFC’s return to Chicago takes place.
The former interim UFC welterweight champion gave his take on what will happen when Woodley and Usman meet inside of the Octagon come fight night. During a recent interview, Covington made it known that Woodley will knock out the title contender.
“I see Woodley starching Usman,” Covington told TSN Radio (H/T to MMAfighting). “I think’s Usman’s inexperience, he hasn’t really fought a good wrestler that can strike too. He doesn’t really have a good strategy. He tries to go forward and pressure a fighter but he doesn’t really have gas like that. He thinks he does but he really doesn’t, so I think he’s gonna get knocked out. He’s been dropped in fights.
He got dropped by my teammate Hayder Hassan, he almost got knocked out by that one kid that was a jobber Emil whatever [Emil Meek]. So he’s gonna walk into something. He’s walked into things and been dropped multiple times. He’s already starting to show signs of CTE so I think Tyron Woodley’s gonna knock him out.”
