Charles Oliveira ready to Face Alexander Volkanovski: “It would be a great honor”
Charles Oliveira has revealed that he’s open to the idea of a showdown with Alexander Volkanovski.
When it comes to fan favorites, Charles Oliveira is up there with the best of them. The former UFC lightweight champion has enjoyed tremendous success inside the cage, and even at the age of 34, he still believes he has what it takes to capture the belt once again.
Of course, he has lost two of his last three fights, leaving many to wonder what’s next for him. He was beaten narrowly by Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300 as he awaits his next assignment inside the octagon.
Alexander Volkanovski, meanwhile, was recently beaten in emphatic fashion by Ilia Topuria. As the Spaniard prepares to defend the featherweight strap against Max Holloway, Volkanovski is busy trying to figure out what his next move is.
When the idea of a fight against the Australian was suggested on social media, ‘Do Bronx’ made it crystal clear that he’d be up for the challenge.

Volkanovski exclusively takes tough fights and this is all the proof you need of that. Of course, nothing is official just yet, but it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see the UFC head in this direction.
As for Charles Oliveira, he certainly isn’t going to shy away from fighting someone who can give him a genuinely tough time. Volkanovski may have had his fair share of setbacks, but he also happens to be one of the most well-rounded fighters of his generation. Hopefully, for the sake fo both men, it happens – and they put on a real show.
