Chad Mendes vs Ricardo Lamas? “Money” Calls Out “Bully”
With the landscape of the UFC featherweight division still wide open, does Chad Mendes vs Ricardo Lamas make sense?
UFC featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas made waves at UFC 180; he faced Dennis Bermudez on a stacked PPV main card, and made a statement against the Streaking “Menace”. His submission win was slick and completed a career best performance by “The Bully”. With his name back in the title race, Lamas once again has a target on his back.

This time the 145-pound division’s number one contender Chad Mendes wants a piece of the NCAA wrestler/BJJ black belt. Check out what “Money” posted to his twitter after UFC 180:
I think it’s time for me and @ricardolamasmma to spends some time in the cage together! You down Ricardo? @seanshelby @arielhelwani

Chad Mendes is fresh off his epic UFC 179 rematch with Jose Aldo. The featherweight championship bout in Brazil was haled as the best ever in the division, and “Money” proved that he really does belong with the elite at 145.
A potential pairing between Lamas and Mendes might actually make sense right now, given that Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar are battling for contention at UFC Fight Night 57.
