Cat Zingano: I’m The One To Take Out Ronda Rousey

The Women’s Bantamweight title picture has a new title match to look forward to in the wake of UFC 168, as Ronda Rousey claimed her eigth arm bar victory on the bounce. Miesha Tate was once again the victim of ‘Rowdy’s spectacular grappling prowess, and number one contender Cat Zingano will now get her deserved shot at Rousey’s crown.

‘Alpha’ was forced to withdraw from he TUF 18 position due to a nasty knee injury, but was fortunate enough to recover in time and keep her standing in the title picture. Zingano was on hand to talk to MMAFighting.com in the wake of Rousey’s victory over ‘Cupcake:

‘Dana said to me that I was promised to be number one contender, and he kept his word. Here I am I’m ready to go. I know that they needed to promote this fight, that’s ok. I’m not bitter, I’m a fighter and hopefully I get to fight both of them. Mutual friends say Ronda and I might get along, on a personal note I want another fight with Miesha’

The future is certainly bright for Zingano, especially after Rousey Tate 2 delivered in such a big way. ‘Rowdy’ once again is paving the way for Women’s MMA, who knows maybe Rousey-Zingano will be the biggest WMMA fight to date? The sky is the limit right now for the Women’s BW class.

‘I’m really excited to come back and show that I’m a completely different animal. I do think I’m the one to take out Ronda. She knows, her coaches know that if she doesn’t get the armbar then she’s screwed. You know, I’ve got my own armbars too.’

The women’s division is different from the men’s is so many ways, but I am really starting to appreciate a lot more. I have to admit I did doubt Rousey before last night, I also think that Zingano has a chance to beat her too. WMMA seems to be, if possible, a bit more unpredictable that the male counterpart.
