Cain Velasquez Pummels Travis Browne In First Round

The main card of the biggest Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event in history got started with a heavyweight tilt. Former kingpin of the 265-pound division Cain Velasquez (14-2) was in search for his first win since 2013 when he met Travis Browne (18-4-1) inside the Octagon at UFC 200.

Velasquez earned his first victory in almost three years in dominating fashion.

Velasquez threw out a leg kick and Browne landed a right land. The former champion applied pressure on his opponent with jabs. He went for a single leg takedown, but the fence was there for “Hapa.” They separated and Browne missed an uppercut. A combination landed for Velasquez. The former champion dropped Browne and gained top control. Browne ate some shots, but returned to his feet. Velasquez landed an uppercut and a knee to the body. He took “Hapa” down again and finished him with strikes.
