The co-headliner of tonight’s (September 17, 2016) UFC Fight Night Hidalgo pit two physical freaks against one another in middleweights Uriah Hall and Derek Brunson. Both men seem to have the potential to become top contenders with their undeniable physical gifts.

The fight began with Hall quickly and aggressively coming out of his corner, while Brunson crouched and waited. As Hall pushes forward, Brunson changes levels for a takedown. Hall stuffs it, but finds himself stuck to the cage in the clinch. The two men jockey as Brunson looks to trip The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) alum to the mat. Hall extricates himself and returns to the center of the cage. He snaps a front kick into Brunson’s gut. Brunson responds by pressuring forward, backing Hall near the fence. An overhand left from Brunson drops Hall to the base of the cage, and follow up punches call referee Herb Dean to action. With that, the Strikeforce veteran claims his fourth straight first round knockout.
