Brian Ortega Taps Diego Brandao In Final Round
If Brain Ortega (9-0, 1 NC) was to maintain his perfect record, he had to get past a tough slugger in Diego Brandao (20-11). Mission accomplished.
The opening frame was mostly contested on the feet. Ortega landed a stiff jab and a kick to the body. A cut formed under the left eye of Brandao. Ortega was taken down briefly. He got back up and the round ended standing.
While Brandao paced himself in the second stanza, he swung for the fences in the final round. Ortega was able to get the fight on the ground, going for an anaconda choke before switching to a triangle to finish the fight.
Final Result: Brian Ortega def. Diego Brandao via submission (triangle choke) – R3, 1:37
