Brendan Schaub Warns Brock Lesnar To Stay Out Of UFC

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has been linked multiple times to a UFC comeback and it’s no wonder; The WWE superstar is a huge draw, and once represented a new era of heavyweight in MMA. He dwarfed Randy Couture when he beat him for the title at UFC 91, but never rally reached his full potential in the sport.

After a revenge win over Frank Mir at UFC 100, and an exciting comeback choke over Shane Carwin, the WWE crossover became sick with diverticulitis and and his career starting sliding. Apparently healthy, Lesnar got battered by Cain Velasquez and lost his title in 2010. He wouldn’t fight again until late 2011, where a fresh faced Alistair Overeem pounded him to mince meat.

Talking with The Jason Ellis Show, UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub had some stern words for Lesnar. Quotes from MMAMAnia.com:

“You’re playing grab ass, you know if you’re gonna win or lose. Yeah, it’s hard on your body, great. He hasn’t been competing and training like I have. If he comes back to the UFC, I would 100-percent send him packing back to the fake wrestling.”

The debate comes at a time where MMA and pro wrestling are almost starting to blur the lines. “Rampage” Jackson was linked with TNA wrestling with his Bellator contractBellator has actively sought Alberto Del Rio and Brock Lesnar, and of course CM Punk famously signed with the UFC in late 2014.

My question is this; we are yet to see a sustained, lengthy career from a wrestling-MMA crossover, maybe there’s a reason for that? It became apparent late on in Brock Lesnar’s 5-3 run that he didn’t like getting hit in the face, at all. Will CM Punk further strengthen Schaub’s view on the matter, or does he have what it takes to put together a decent run in MMA? Furthermore, are you interested in seeing Brock Lesnar return to fighting after the two nasty beatings last time he fought?
