Breaking: Demian Maia vs Carlos Condit Added To UFC 202
UFC 202 just got a whole lot crazier.
The UFC has officially announced via Twitter that a huge welterweight contest between No. 3-ranked Demian Maia and No. 5-ranked Carlos Condit is set to go down at UFC 202 in August.
The bout will join a rapidly-growing card that features Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz in the main event, in addition to the recently added Anthony Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira and Donald Cerrone vs. Rick Story bouts:

Maia (23-6) is on an impressive five-fight win streak with his most recent victory coming at UFC 198 this past May against Matt Brown, where the Brazilian submitted Brown via rear-naked choke in the third round of their contest.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu stud has been campaigning for a title opportunity for quite some time now, and he might just get his wish with a win over Condit.
Condit (30-9) comes off of arguably one of the greatest title fights of all time, against current champ Robbie Lawler at UFC 195 in January. The two men pushed each other to the very edge in the bloody five round war, that ultimately saw Lawler retaining his title via split decision.
Much buzz has circulated throughout the MMA media, calling for a rematch between to two elite 170-pounders. A win over a surging Maia may just put ‘The Natural Born Killer’ back in the title hunt.
UFC 202 takes place live on pay-per-view (PPV), from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 20, 2016.
