Brandon Moreno Chokes Louis Smolka In Stunner

Two flyweights got the main card of UFC Fight Night 96 underway. Louis Smolka (11-2) was riding a four-fight winning streak going into his bout with last-minute replacement Brandon Moreno (12-3). Oddsmakers had “Da Last Samurai” as a heavy favorite over “The Assassin Baby.”

Smolka had his high kick blocked a few seconds in. Moreno couldn’t block a body kick, but he managed to score a takedown. Smolka got back up, but found himself in a guillotine choke. Smolka rolled to his back, but Moreno went right back to the submission and forced “Da Last Samurai” to tap.
