Brandon Davis Outguns Steven Peterson In Austin

Brandon Davis outworked a tough Steven Peterson.

The two traded shots early. Peterson was already cut under the right eye. Peterson got out of the way of a spinning backfist. Davis kept finding a home for leg kicks and was a bit faster with the hands. The counter right hand was there for Davis. The first round was over and Davis clearly had more success.

Peterson went for a takedown, but ate a knee for his efforts. Peterson was able to land a combination. Davis had some marks under his right eye. Davis went for a takedown, but he got shoved against the fence. Peterson went for the back, but was shaken off. Davis was now in top control in full guard. Peterson got back up and he landed a knee.Peterson gained top control near the end of the round.

Peterson landed a combination early in the final frame. Peterson had a cut on the right side of his head. He kept pushing forward. Davis popped his opponent with a counter right hand. A clean knee found the mark for Davis. Peterson was wobbled. He moved forward  anyway with a push kick. Davis looked too tired to capitalize. The round ended with Peterson going for the back.

All three judges scored the fight for Davis.

Final Result: Brandon Davis def. Steven Peterson via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-26)
