Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson have a date with destiny on Saturday October 8. For ‘Hendo’ the UFC 204 main event will serve as the closer to an epic 19-year career. After falling short against Anderson Silva at UFC 82, Henderson will try to grab that elusive UFC belt, and against his fiercest rival to date. After being bludgeoned by the immense force of Henderson’s H-Bomb at UFC 100, Bisping’s UFC 204 title defense is all about revenge. Sparking Luke Rockhold cold at UFC 199 was a great example of how far ‘The Count’ has evolved.

Now 46 years of age, former Pride FC and Strikeforce champ Dan Henderson’s career is one of the most highly decorated in MMA history. Defeating Michael Bisping at UFC 204 would be the perfect ending to Henderson’s tenure as a fighter, but Bisping has other plans. The Englishman is fighting for the first time in nine years on home soil, and he plans on making it a big homecoming.

Dan Henderson is a Hard Bastard

Speaking during an interview with BT Sports, Michael Bisping acknowledges the test in front. Recognizing he won’t get Dan Henderson to quit, ‘The Count’ vows to get the KO in front of his fans in Manchester.

“Dan Henderson is a hard bastard. He’s one tough son of a bitch, I won’t make him quit. I’m not going to go out there and try and make him quit. I know I am going to have to knock him out, or punish him until the referee steps in.”

Revenge, But With Class

After Henderson’s infamous follow-up blow on Bisping at UFC 100, you’d think maybe the champ would be looking to repay the favor. According to the current king of the 185-pound division, he’s looking to get classy revenge.

“I’m going to knock him out, one million percent, but I’m not going to give him another dig. I’ll KO him, then pick him up off the ground. I won’t pay back that classless move, I’ll knock him out and then buy him a beer.”

“Look at what happened with Luke Rockhold. He was cocky coming in to the (UFC 199 rematch) saying ‘I already finished you.’ It’s a completely different fight though, we are human beings, anything can happen. Dan Henderson is capable of knocking me out Saturday night. Make no mistake, but just because it happened once doesn’t mean it will happen again.”
