‘Bigfoot’ Silva Calls Out Josh Barnett, ‘Warmaster’ Says ‘F Him’

Antonio Silva 004

(You blew my coveeeeerrrrrrrrr!!!!)

UFC heavyweight Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva has been inactive since his FOTN classic brawl against Mark Hunt at Fight Night 33, or at least since the failed drug test that followed. A known TRT user, Silva got popped in a post fight test for elevated levels, and later cited misdirection from his doctor as the reason. The draw with ‘The Super Samoan’ was later changed to a no-contest.

Having nearly served his nine-month suspension for the infraction, it looks like Silva is setting his sights on his next opponent. The following tweet went out in response to Josh Barnett plugging a podcast he will be appearing in:

Currently not linked to any MMA action, Barnett is scheduled to face Dean Lister at Metamoris 4 in August, in a grappling bout that will determine whether ‘The Warmaster’ has recovered from his broken orbital bone. That injury was courtesy of Travis Browne’s elbows at UFC 168, the last time Barnett fought for the UFC.

What do you think, would Barnett vs. Silva make sense for the rankings, or would you actually want to see this fight? Well, ‘The Warmaster’ had his say during last night’s edition of The MMA Hour, check it out:

“”For me, I’m not trying to help (Silva) out, I don’t like him, and I don’t like the way he approached anything about what he did back in his Strikeforce days and all of that. I had never even talked about this dude. He brought up all this stuff, made this huge kerfuffle, so my response is: F him. I’m not going to help him gain any ground in any way, even by losing to me. I’m not going to get him paid. I’m not going to going to get him anything, if I can help it.”

Well, it may be up to the matchmakers in the UFC to make this bout a reality, unless Silva can really hype up the trash talk….
