‘Bigfoot’ Silva vs Soa Palelei Added To UFC 190 In August
UFC 190 has got a pair of hard-hitting heavyweights added to the line up, as the UFC announced Soa Palelei vs Antonio Silva earlier today. The August 1st card sees women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey return to action, as she takes on fierce contender Bethe Correia to see out their feud.
A Pride FC rewind is also featured on the main card, as old rivals Mauricio Shogun Rua and Anotonio Rogerio Nogueira collide in a rematch of their classic burner. The older of the Nogueira brothers also fights in Rio De Janeiro at UFC 190, as he takes on Dutch “Skyscraper” Stefan Struve.
The addition of Palelei vs Silva sees quite an interesting pairing, as the on-form “Hulk” will look to continue “Bigfoot’s” recent miserable form. The Brazilian giant has been blasted by Frank Mir and Andrei Arlovski inhis last two, not making it through round one before being knocked out.
Silva is without a win since his 2013 starching of Alistair Overeem. Palelei is 4-1 for the UFC, his most recent outing a second round TKO over Walt Harris at UFC Fight Night 55. A loss for Silva, especially if one sided, will surely mark his signal to retirement.
With the latest news, this is how UFC 190 is shaping up:
