Poland has become known for producing some of the most talented MMA fighters in the world. At any time, there are multiple Polish fighters in the top 10 ranks and even earned world titles.

Mateusz Gamrot

We’re starting off our list of the best Polish MMA fighters with one of the current top athletes, Mateusz Gamrot. Mateusz has been making some noise in the MMA world ever since going undefeated in the Polish promotion KSW.

The top lightweight has overcome two tough losses, but he has beaten some tough opponents in the UFC lightweight division. So far in his current UFC run, Gamrot has beaten everyone from Jeremy Stephens, Diego Ferreira, Arman Tsarukyan, and Jalin Turner.  

Gamrot’s latest win was the biggest of his career as he took a decision over former champion Rafael Dos Anjos. Another big win like this one will definitely get Gamrot into title contention soon.

Marcin Tybura

UFC vet Marcin Tybura has been one of the best Polish MMA fighters for a long time now. He has been a fixture as one of the UFC’s top five heavyweights for the last few years.

In over eight years in the UFC, Marcin has faced all of the world’s top heavyweights. Some of his biggest wins include former champ Andrei Arlovski, Stefan Struve, Ben Rothwell, and Walt Harris.

Tybura most recently bounced back from his loss to now champ Tom Aspinall to submit KO artist Tai Tuivasa. 

Karolina Kowalkiewicz

Another one of the long-time best Polish MMA fighters in the world is Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Karolina has been part of the UFC women’s strawweight almost since the beginning and has fought nearly every contender.

This includes multiple former world champions from Joanna Champion, Jessica Andrade, and a win over Rose Namajunas. Kowalkiewicz is currently on the biggest winning streak on her UFC run with 4 straight wins.

If Karolina can keep her streak going, we could see her crack the top five and get into title contention.

Jan Blachowicz 

We couldn’t make a list of the best Polish MMA fighters without mentioning former champion Jan Blachowicz. Jan made history by becoming the first Polish fighter to win the UFC light heavyweight championship.

However, it was no easy feat getting to the belt as Blachowicz faced quite a bit of adversity along the way. Blachowicz took tough losses during his UFC run and was nearly cut multiple times. 

But Jan showed that he had the heart of a champion and went on the run of his career to win the title. At 41, the former Polish champ is looking to find that spark one more time to become a 2x champion.

Joanna Jedrzejcyk

No list of the best Polish MMA fighters is complete without the legend Joanna Jedrejcyk. Joanna Champion not only helped put Polish MMA on the map but also the UFC strawweight division.

Her dominant run as champion helped bring more eyes to the women’s strawweight division and earned them more respect. Along with being a dominant champ, Joanna was also part of some of the best fights in MMA history.

These impressive feats not only makes her one of the best Polish fighters, but an all time great.
