Benson Henderson vs. TJ Grant To Headline UFC 164 from Milwaukee
Although the upcoming UFC lightweight title match between Benson Henderson and TJ Grant was rumored for the main event of UFC on Fox Sports 1:Boston, Shogun vs. Sonnen ended up in that spot, and Henderson vs. Grant has landed in a new spot together.
Slated for the main event of UFC 164 on August 31st from Milwaukee, Grant is the next in line to try and solve the puzzle that Henderson presents. The champ has fought some close decisions in his time as champion, and all of his title bouts save for the Nate Diaz fight could have arguably gone either way. But they didn’t, and Henderson looks to extend his unbeaten streak in the UFC. “UFC Tonight” broke the news tonight on Twitter:

Grant most recently destroyed Gray Maynard in what was somewhat of a big surprise, as most thought Maynard would roll to a title shot against Henderson. However, he was knocked out with ruthless efficiency, a testament to Grant’s skill in his 5-0 run since moving down to lightweight.
He’s been finishing opponents with pinpoint destruction, something that Henderson has yet to accomplish in the Octagon despite his rapid rise to the championship. A great fight to showcase at the UFC’s summer-ending event return to Wisconsin.
